Cascade: A+++++++ Unbelievable. So easy to work with, and just unbelievable. We chose their winter wedding package, that ended up being 87.50pp including tax and tip. This included our DJ, the entire ballroom, the downstairs room for cocktail hour, four hot appetizers, a cheese/fruit/veggie/bruscetta display, premium open bar for 5 hours, and unbelievable service. We had a buffet menu that included salad, bread, eggplant, chicken marsala, salmon, mixed veggies, a mashed potato bar, penne ala vodka, and a carving station. We also had a chocolate fountain and an ice cream sundae bar. AMAZING. I could not have asked for a better, more wonderful and beautiful reception site!

Holiday Inn, North Haven: C- Although we worked with Jillian from six months before the wedding until the week of the wedding (and were completely pleased with everything she did for us—she was amazing!), she was not working the day of our wedding. She told us not to worry, but we did not have the best experience with them. First, the double booked my parents suite because a VIP member decided to stay an extra night—we had the suite booked since July. PLUS my father is a VIP member as well, no excuse. The originally told my father that the room was not ready when we went to check in before the ceremony, and then when they went back in between the ceremony and reception (crunched time!), they told them they did not have a room. We had a print out of all of the guests and their rooms, and my parents clearly had a suite. Also, we went to Harry’s Bar (in the hotel) after the reception, and were completely ignored when DH tried to get three different waitresses attention—they walked right by and didn’t even look at us (an entire bridal party), and that’s just bad service in general.

Emanuel’s Salon: A+ I see Tina all of the time for my hair, so I knew there was no question that she would do my hair for my wedding. We also hired her all day so that she could do touch ups for me, and was fabulous.

Rumanoff’s Jewlery: A They were very helpful, and even let me know when there was a Tacori trunk show so I could see my matching band with my engagement ring. Every time we came in, they shook our hands, and remembered our names. They also offered to clean my engagement ring every time we came in to talk about bands.

J Cakes: A+ I found J Cakes through the Cascade bridal show, and I loved working with Hope, the owner. We set up a tasting, and everything was extremely organized. She had little cups with the samples, and gave us a chart that labled all of the flavors. She left us alone to taste everything in private, which was really nice, and everything was delicious. We picked white cake with berry filling, chocolate cake with white chocolate filling, and chocolate cake with chocolate truffle filling. Not only did the cake look amazing, but it tasted amazing too, and we’ve gotten so many compliments on it.

Capricorn Floral: A+ I loved working with Capricorn, and although they are a little pricey, I knew that I would get nothing less than fabulous. I was absolutely right. The boutonnieres were one of a kind, and I loved how she could take my vision and turn it into something spectacular. The centerpieces were also amazing, and we have gotten so many compliments on them.

Gateway Limo: A++ I would absolutely recommend using Gateway to anyone, and could not have imagined having a better experience. Larry was extremely attentive, and helped to make sure all of the bridesmaids had their flowers, knew exactly how to help me get in the limo (with my dress and veil), helped organize the bridal processional, and even made an extra trip down to Yale so we could visit DH’s grandmother without any problem.

Music in Motion: A Although there were some songs that weren’t played (I expected that), everything went amazing. Our DJ was Mike (the owner), and although this company was included in our reception package, I would have booked with them regardless. We had a fun game with DH and I, we had ordered party props, and we had a conga line, and also ordered glow necklaces for everyone. The energy level was great, and everyone was dancing the whole night, and Mike even organized certain pictures with our photographer based on the activities he was doing with us. We also had Mike set up the architectural lighting, which was absolutely worth the money. It made the room look gorgeous.

HK Photography: A Hubert and Alka are amazing to work with, and I can not wait to see how our pictures came out. I will post more of a review once we get our pictures in about four weeks!
